Abstract: Word Processor is a very useful tool which prepares, edits and formats a document textaccording to the need of users. Personnalised letters can be very easily genera-ted by its help. Now-a-days when computers are being in-creasingly used in day-to-day work, word processors are becoming very important. A word processing package on DZC SYS - 2050 has. been designed and implemented in this dissertation. ALGOL has been used for developing the main program. It has been selected because of its powerful string processing caps-. bility. ease+.. A supporting program has been written in DEC SYSTEM 2050 assembly .language. Word processor is so designed that it can be easily used. It is menu driven which helps user to select the right option. At times, error messages are flashed on the screen, so as to guide the user. Command sets are simple and easy to use. Further improvement, can be incorporated on the lines suggested in the dissertation.
