Issue Date: 1985
Abstract: A time optimal control of a step motor by a microprocessor is described. To execute a random move length in minimum or quasiminimum time in open loop control, the microprocessor control the motor velocity by referring and connecting the precalculated and stored acceleration. and Decceleration tables. The transfer function of the stepper motor is developed, from the response curves obtained from the experimental set up. Accelaration, deccelaration tables are obtained by the computer simulation, and these are stored in the micro processor memory. No external circuitry is necessary except a power drive circuit in this system. Micro-processor works as a four phasetranslator, a step counter and a clock generator.
