Satellite to receiver link analysis has been performed to find the receiver and antenna requirements. As per requirements, front end antenna preamp., d. c. amp. to drive recorder and 12-0-12 V regulated power supply have been designed, fabricated and tested. Antenna measurements and adjustments have been done on 12 element crossed yagi antenna.. Satellite tracking chart and computer programme for prediction of future passes of satellites (NOAA--6 and METEOR-5) are prepared. 50 passes were tracked and the signals ware recorded over a period of one month on paper chart recorder. Analysis of signal records for scintillation index (SI) statistics has been performed to get diurnal varia-tion, dependance on antenna elevation angle and latitu-dinal dependance of SI. Amplitude distribution of signal and distribution of SI are obtained, which can be used for a practical communication system.en_US
