Issue Date: 1983
Abstract: The the sic deals with the analysis of guyed mast tower by a matrix displacement method applied to the complete assembly of the guys and the mast. Static condensation has been employed to eliminate the additional degrees of freedom in the guy cables before the assembly of equations for the complete structure. This reduces not only the final number of equations to be solved but also decreases numerical instabi-lity in the solution. The method takes into consideration the beam column effect of the mast with large deformations and non-linearity of the guyed cables.. Method is iterative and iteration is initiated by assuming appropriate values of guy tensions. The formulation and the computer program are checked by the solution of a simple case of 29 in high mast. Further, to illustrate the method of analysis 110 in high guyed mast tower with four guy levels has been analysed. With proper'ehoice of initial guy tensions results converge after second iteration.
