Uombrano Filter Techniquee hao been commonly used as 8tafldad r thod of testing viator samples, for bacterial couhts This test takes at least 24 hours* Therefore there has alwaysbeen the need of reducing testing time* Some. efforts have boon - made earlier in this dLrect on. One line of action has been by use of radio-act ve t acors —14 and P32. By these techniques the re- uired tooting time hoc boon reported to be only between I to 4 hours. But thew procedures need a lot of precision of experimental work and cc ,stly set up* Second line of action for reducing the toot time has been by way of im proving the culture media. By this approach the required bacterial test tiro has boon reported to be only 1.6 hours# In the present study a now method based on magnified viewing of the bacterial colones has been proposed* The present study indicator that by making use of 1) to 12 hours bacterial count data under mogn fied view on the met brane filter and Ii) a first order equation, 24 hours values of the bacto,:r'ia1. counts can be predicted.en_US
