Issue Date: 1981
Abstract: In 1979 improved 1oxlo mean free-air gravity anomalies with some more values for gravimetricaliy unsurveyed areas were received. Using this recent gravity data along with 5° equal area block gravity anomalies, the generalized geoidal parameters referred to GRS-67 have been computed. The results have been presented in form of contoured maps and tables for future use. A broad study of the Indian geoid has also been made. A complete algorithm involved in the determination of gravimetric geoidal parameters has been presented with some computer programmes developed for the purpose. Saving in computation time by reducing the number of 1oxlo mean free-air gravity anomalies without loosing the accuracy has been suggested. A broad comparison between the old and new, gravity data and the computed geoidal parameters have also been made to assess the improvement in the new com-puted values from the old values.
