The analogue stereoplotting instruments exist in a majority of surveying organisations. With the general accep-tance of analytical photogrammetrie systems for most photo-grammetric works the survey organisations and private firms are faced-with the questions as how to utilise best the existing analogue plotting instruments and what instruments should be purchased for the future • A majority of medium and small survey organisations have today only the analogue stereoplotting instruments. It will be very economical if they can use these asc an.ytical instrument's primarily for measuring coordinates1 besides plotting, to avoid purchase of expensive analytical instruments such as comparators, analytical plotters etc. In this dissertation an attempt ha been made to determine the suitability of an analogue plotting instrument for use in analytical photogrammetrye it is: hoped that these investigations will be of use to pbtogrammetric firms to utilise fully the existing analogue instruments both for conventional mapping as well as for analytical work, in the wake of developments in analytical p1i6tograimnetry.en_US
