Issue Date: 1976
Abstract: An attempt has been made to synthesis the single looped network by considering the problem in its original form. Using Lagrangian Multipli er method it is possible to reduc-€ the problem to a set of nonlinear algebraic equations. An algorithm for optimal design has been developed which is computationally quite efficient. By studying specific cases it has been found that substantial economy can be achieved by using the developed algorithm. The general form of equations for total cost of a system has also been developed for interconversion and summation-of capital costs and recurring costs by 'Capitalization Method' and 'Annuity Method',. Comparative study of both the' methods has also been done..
