Abstract: With heavy pressure on the availability of land in big cities' more and more numbers of multistoreyed buildings are coming up these days. In building industries' the trend of growth is vertical rather than horizontal and as such lot of work is being carried out on multistoreyed buildings all over the world. Analyses of multistoreyed building frames are being carried out for years together by the classical methods such as moment distribution, slope deflection and Kani's method. But in recent years' keen interest has been evinced by engineers towards more accurate analysis by using matrix and finite element method of analyses. The more refined methods take care of the effect of axial deformations of the members ) which are quite considerable in case of multistoreyed buildings............
