PARTIALLY BONDED SYSTEMS
|Abstract:||In partially bonded systems the inter-layer slip displacements occur due to the deformations of the connectors and some shear is transferred between the layers. This shear is some percentage of , the shear which would have been transferred at same point in the system having the full bond between the layers.- Due to partial bond 9 the rigidity and the stress distribution of the sys teni are greatly influenced and the analysis becomes complex. General finite element formulations for lineaii slip shear bond relationships for multilayered. systems are developed in this thesis. Cases of liultilayered s v aig.Ilc and curved -'seams y conical and curved layered axisy metric shell and layered plate elen ent have been formulated. Two sets of variables for solving iizplane displacements -have been ions idered. These finite element formulations have been developed for the first time. A computer progra, . has boon developed to solve problems of straight layered bes,, A two and three layered straight beam problem has been solved and result have 'been compared with theoretical results.. The difficulties about global transformations in layered system has been outlined. Useful conclusions and scope for future work have also been given in the last chapter........|
