Abstract: An experimental investigation concerning the drag and lift coefficient of two-dimensional rectangular prisms placed in a turbulent boundary layer under zero pressure gradient are reported in this thesis. As expected it is seen that the lift coefficient is a function of same parameters which affect the drag co-efficient. The drag coefficient based on the free stream velocity is a function of 8/h, t/h and Uoh/1 . The drag coefficient based on the shear velocity is seen to be a function of h/y', t/h and u*/Uo. This implies that for modelling structures in natural wind one has to hold two parameters- either 5/h and Uoh/) or lily' and constant in model and prototype', apart from maintaining geometry.
