A CRITICAL REVIEW OF GEOMETRICAL METHODS OF SATELLITE GEODESY

Abstract

The Indian Space Research Organisation plans to establish a super-control geodetic network in the country by geometric satellite .geodesy. Prior to the commencement of this progr-amme, a careful study must be made for the available methods, equipments, cost, precision and operational difficulties. It * . should be.plahnod to utiliso precision optical/electronic tracking of satellites and the latest data reduction techniques for the purpose. A theoretical review of the available methods has been made in this dissertation, so that.a. good amount of literature could be compiled together for the above plan.
