Authors: Kumar, Sujeet
Keywords: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING;DYNAMIC STABILITY STUDIES;PARALLEL FACT;HVDC LINES
Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: In this work an attempt has been made to develop a software to study the dynamic stability of a parallel ac-dc line. The ac line consists of a variable series capacitor in middle of the.line. Aspects of dynamic stability, stability of parallel ac-dc power system and a brief introduction of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) are also presented. The models of dc link; governor, exciter etc. are developed. A - linearized state space model for the present system is developed. The dynamic stability of the system with and without compensation studied using eigenvalue approach. The eigenvlaues of the system are presented with and without compensation.
