Abstract: Vibration test is one of the type tests for testing of electrical equipments. Vibration test determines the ability of electrical equipments to withstand severe vibrations which it may be subjected during transportation and during its operation depending upon its usage. The vibration testing of Energy Meter is done on a signal with increasing and decreasing frequency and amplitude. This is done to simulate a realtime condition of transportation. In the present work an attempt is made to analyze the vibration testing signals used to test Energy Meters. It is further ensured that this testing conforms to IS.•13010-1990. The purpose of this work is to analyze the performance of Accelerometer and vibration table. For this, the frequency response of Accelerometer and vibration table is plotted with the help of DASYLab software. The desired excitation signal i.e. signal ha Ping an anti/ogarithmlc frequency sweep rate of 1 octave/minute over a frequency range of 16.8-150-16.8 Hz, which produces the required acceleration amplitudes of vibrations, is generated using DASYLab software. Acceleration is measured with the help of Accelerometer. Initially open loop control of vibration table is implemented. In this, excitation signal is generated and output acceleration is monitored with the help of DASYLab. In the later portion, a closed loop control scheme for the control of vibration table is implemented In the closed loop mode, a PID controller is realized and implemented for controlling the input to get acceleration within the allowed limits.
