Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: The inherent. many-fold advantages associated with a modern day cable-stayed bridge are being realized increasingly by the design and practising engineers in the field of bridge engineering world over. Analytical studies and design of cable-stayed bridges for static and dynamic loads have been carried out by many investigators. Different parameters have been taken by them to find out the best possible design. One of them is the various alternative articulations at the supports. In the present work the analysis of the proposed 4-lane cable stayed bridge at. NAINI, ALLFIABAD has been done taking four different articulations at the supports, using STAAD3 general purpose engineering software package. The results obtained are the horizontal shears at the top of piers and pylons, forces in cables and in the deck, for the four different articulations alternatives at the supports.
