Title: COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN OF TRICKLING FILTER
Authors: Singh, Anil Kumar
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN;TRICKLING FILTER;EACKENFELDER EQUATION
Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: Trickling filter is a biological unit of attatch OA: 'type. Present work seeks to develope a comprehensive package, encompassing important empirical formulae. NRC equation gives a fairly good result when the recirculation is not adopted. Rankines equation holds good for Indian condi- tions. Eackenfelder equation more or less near to the rational approach because it considers the temperature, recirculation and filter depth. But it is used mainly for plastic media. Apart from design of Trickling filter an attempt has been made to workout the cost of the trickling filter unit. Software has been developed in C language which is compatible to both DOS and LINIX operating system. The program has been divided into well defined function for better coordination and easier Identification.
