Tests are reported on the behaviour of high volume percentage steel fibre mortar (5 to 20%) called SIFCON, subjected to flexure and impact. Flexural tests were conducted on 54 specimens of size 400x200x25 mm and impact tests on 142 specimens of size 200x200x25 mm under the drop weight of 25N. The effect of fibre content and aspect ratio has been also discussed in this report, in addition, comparison tests were made on FRM (Fibre Reinforced Mortar) and Plain Mortar specimens. The toughness of specimens was studied under two point flexural loading. From the test results, it is observed that SIFCON has better flexural strength and impact resistance, high toughness and ductility over the companion plain mortar and fibre reinforced mortar.en_US
