Title: STUDY OF PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE WITH POZZOLANS (FLY ASH)
Authors: Mohan, Jagdish
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;CONCRETE;POZZOLANS;FLY ASH
Issue Date: 1969
Abstract: This study has been devoted to the review of work done on various fly ashes In this country and elsewhere and also to determine experimentally the suitability of various mix proportions of fly ash concrete. The expori-monte wore done mainly with Dol i fly ash and Obra fly ash, both of htch possess pozzo .c activity. The fly ash was used In concrete as a partial replacement of cement in various percentages. In some cases, the amount of cement replaced eras oqusi to the amount of fly ish added and in others the weight of fly ash added was more than tho amount of cement replaced and amount of fine and coarse aggregates were out"tably adjusted to give more or less equal strength at the ago of P,8 days. It was found that strength of fiyash concrete at 28 days com?arable to that of plain portland convent concrete was obtained by replace. merit of cemont by fly ash in 'xcess of the weight of cement and suitable adjustment of aggregates and water content. omo er ortments were also done on accelerated cur-ing of fly ash concrete: High pressure steam curing in autoclave, steam curing at atmospheric pressure and oven curing were done with a view to find out the relative ease and efficiency of one method over the other. It has been beat observed that autoclave curing gives th rosuito.
