Abstract: The practical importance of measuring pressures under depressed floor with sheet pile at -downstream end with finite length of the regions from where to which seepage takes place by electrical. analogy have been emphasized And recent investi-gations on pressure distribution below depressed floor are briefly reviewed. An experimental study was ,made for measuring pressures under depressed floor with .sheet pile at downstream end. The potentials were measured under the depressed floor at eleven points, it was also measured at the bottom of sheet pile and at its top in the level of depressed floor at the exi*t. Experiments were performed to ,study the effects of•upstream seepage length, downstream seepage length, floor depression and sheet pile .depth, on the pressure distribution below the depressed floor. These studies led to conclude that with increase of the , upstream seeapge length pressures below the floor. increases, that as the downstream seepage length increases the pressures below floor. decreases also that fall of pressure is ,sapid in case of shallow depressed floor and that with the increase in -sheet pile depth the potential below the floor increases.
