Decomposable character of sewage is measured by BOD. It is an indirect, elaborate and time consuming test. IL direct test will be more useful. As mainly volatile organic matter exerts BOD, their correlation may be useful, In the presait studies correlstion between BOO and volatile organic matter content in, domestic savages obtained from six different places, along with mutual correlation of other characters were determined. POD minus COD values wore found to vary consistently and constantly with volatile solids in all the savages.//en_US
