Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: The development of modern society has significantly increased the dependence on electric supply availability. So the operation and control of Electric power system has become very important. For the reliable and efficient operation of power system various operating parameters are simultaneously measured. Frequency being important operating parameter of electrical power system should be measured accurately and within minimum possible time. In this report various methods has been implemented for measurement of frequency in power system. To demonstrate these methods different input singles are considered and frequency vs time plots are drawn for each case. The input signal contains harmonics and dc offset. The effectiveness of algorithms was tested in case of, sudden change in frequency as well as continuous change in frequency. Result of all the methods are compared to know which method is better and under what conditions
