Issue Date: 2011
Abstract: Distribution system improvement design of existing system, for reliability improvement purpose is very complicated selective task since; different design improvement alternatives have different cost and different impact on the distribution system reliability indices. Reliability improvement may be achieved by improving maintenance procedure. So to approve the design improvements we are going to consider them as reliability improvement project with other alternatives available for improving reliability of system. Then to assess the reliability improvement of distribution system for all the considered projects, reliability assessment model should be programmed for further optimization process. Assessment model is programmed for implementing the impact of improvement projects so that improvement achieved by all the projects can be compared. From improvement values assessed by model for all the project combination, optimal project combination can be selected, which includes the design improvement and other alternatives for reliability improvement. Based on these results we can say that the approved distribution system design is optimal.
