Title: PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF HARMONIC ELIMINATION TECHNIQUES IN CSI DRIVES
Authors: M. F., Ahmed Irfan
Keywords: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING;HARMONIC ELIMINATION TECHNIQUES;CSI DRIVES;PWM TECHNIQUE
Issue Date: 2004
Abstract: This report discusses the performance evaluation of different harmonic elimination techniques in a CSI drive. The operation of a current source inverter on a six step supply and the harmonics in such a supply has been illustrated. The operation of an ac motor connected to such a supply has been examined. Finally, different PWM techniques for elimination of different harmonics at various operating frequencies have been examined and illustrated. These include a Generalized Technique for Selective Harmonic Elimination and Magnitude Control for current source inverters. These PWM techniques have been examined in detail and their advantages and disadvantages discussed. The frequency range for which each technique is most suited has also been discussed
