Abstract: | In the present work, a comprehensive study of different modeling techniques in Transmission Lines is considered and the main problem associated with transmission line, i.e. transients due to over voltages are analyzed. The Transmission line performance is analyzed considering a system of 400 KV, the simulation has been carried out on PSCAD, which uses Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) for its transient calculation. In this study, the expected magnitudes of over voltages due to Energization with load and Energization without load, 1-phase and 3-phase fault initiation, and fault clearing operations have been evaluated. Also a practical Transmission line is modeled for the study purpose, which is scaled down to 230V from 400KV is developed. And Digital Network Analyzer is incorporated to analyze the performance of the line. The real model is analyzed for line energization with load and energization with out load |
