Abstract: To fulfill the basic need of power a induction generator can be used for small generation. In remote areas where power supply can not transmitted easily the use of induction generator is useful. In this dissertation a two winding single-phase induction motor can be used as self-excited single-phase induction generator. For generation of power machine needs excitation, which can be provide with different schemes. These schemes • fixed shunt capacitor across auxiliary winding • variable shunt capacitor across main winding • shunt across auxiliary and series capacitor in the main winding can be used to self excite the machine. For these various schemes steady state analysis are carried out. Based on performance investigations the last scheme was found best. For this shunt and series excited scheme a dynamic model is derived under two different space vector (current and flux). Matlab simulation is done for dynamic model with flux as a space vector. In Matlab simulation voltage build up process, flux variation is find out by solving first order differential equation of the dynamic model.
