Issue Date: 2003
Abstract: In this thesis a self tuning fuzzy controller has been designed using fuzzy and simulink toolbox to conduct simulation analysis for a second and third order process First a PID controller has been tuned for a servo motor process than fuzzy PD controller has been designed. In order to optimize the performance of fuzzy PD controller output scaling factor has been adjusted on line by fuzzy rules according to process. In this way self tuning Fuzzy Proportional and Derivative controller is designed. FuzzyPD+I has also been designed The results of all controllers have been compared . By simulation results so obtained it has been found that self tuning fuzzy controller perform better than the PID and fuzzy PD controller. Results obtained are found to be useful and encouraging. The proposed model is robust and can be applied to large practical systems
