Issue Date: 2003
Abstract: The estimation of rotor time constant, or rotor resistance, in a vector controlled induction machine is necessary to achieve high performance torque control a drive. The method of self-tuning of vector controller with the rotor time constant does not produce torque pulsations if correctly tuned. In this dissertation, rotor resistance of induction machine is estimated by using two different techniques. First one is reactive power error method and second one is the torque error method. For this propose complete vector controlled dive is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK blocks. Speed is estimated based on the governing equations of induction motor. Programming has been done in MATLAB for estimate the resistance
