An interactive, small hydro power plant training simulator has been developed in this dissertation work; this package is written in LabVIEW 6.1 and MATLAB 6.1 languages and operated in windows system. The objective of this simulation package is to facilitate the SHP study and training in a highly user friendly environment. The main advantage of using simulators for training purpose is that, operator learns about the normal and abnormal conditions without causing an abnormal condition on a real system. The developed simulator consists of five modules this are.1) Arrangements of SHP 2) Turbines used 3) Single line diagram 4) Possible shaft arrangements and 5) Generator connection. Using this developed simulator we can easily train the operators of small hydroelectric power plant in very interactive mode, which helps them well technically. The work has opened up the possibilities of further development in the area of simulator for small hydroelectric power plant.en_US
