Abstract: In the present work Harmonics are estimated at motor terminals of a three-phase induction motor when fed from a sinusoidal PWM inverter supply. Mathematical model of induction motor fed from a sinusoidal PWM inverter is derived in the synchronously rotating reference frame to analyze harmonics of voltages and current at the input terminals of the motor. A standard DFT package is used to analyze the harmonic content. Total harmonic distortion (THD) for voltage and current is also plotted against modulation index.
