Title: OPTIMAL FEEDER RECONFIGURATION FOR LOAD BALANCING IN A POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Authors: Mehrotra, Gaurav
Keywords: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING;OPTIMAL FEEDER RECONFIGURATION;LOAD BALANCING;POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Issue Date: 2001
Abstract: In this thesis, a methodology for feeder reconfiguration with an objective to balance the loading on the feeders in a radial distribution system is presented. The reconfiguration problem has been formulated as a linear programming problem and has been solved by a Modified Simplex Algorithm. The modifications in the Simplex Algorithm have been done mainly to ensure the radiality of the system and also to account for the various line capacity constraints. It has been found that this method can find the optimal configuration for a given loading condition in the system quite efficiently.
