Abstract: The evaluation of design wind loads on various surfaces of a building requires information about pressure coefficients and design wind speed. The values of pressure coefficients on surface of canopies, roofs and walls are normally determined by model studies performed in wind tunnels. Certain parameters like wind velocity, wind direction, shape of building, its height, slope of roof and permeability affect wind loads on roof. Industrial buildings covering large area are provided with sloping or curved roof. IS:875 (Part 3)-1987 Table 16 provides information of external pressure coefficients (Cp0) for pitched roofs of multi span buildings. In this table information about Cpe is only available for wind incidence angle 0° and 90°, and values are not available for other intermediate degrees of wind incidence. In the present study, an attempt has been made to study experimentally the effect of varied wind incidence angle on the values of wind pressure coefficients on multi span pitched roof buildings. First a single model is tested followed by two model case for every 15 degree of wind incidence from 0 degree to 90 degree and finally three model case is tested for 0, 45 and 90 degrees.
