Title: ECG EXTRAC1ION FROM GRAPHICAL RECORDS USING IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNIQUES
Authors: Santhi, S.

Issue Date: 1997
Abstract: Extraction of ECG digital data from graphical paper records is done by first scanning the multi channel ECG. grid paper records using a high resolution flat bed scanner. The two dimensional 'pixel based image data are stored in one of the standard file formats. The scanned ECG image with grid lines removed is available in bit map file format. Image processing techniques are employed to extract the each lead's one dimensional ECG digital data which are stored in ASCII data files. This can be used a data base for many ECG analysis software. Nonlinear median filtering is employed as an image enhancement technique. Two dimensional fast Fourier- transform program is developed which will facilitate frequency domain method of image enhancement
