Self excited induction generators (SEIG) have recently attention as economical alternative to the more expensive synchronous generators particularly in large ratings. In addition they have rugged construction, simple excitation, low maintenance and relatively easier operation. Such generators are suitable for small scale power application in remote/rural areas of developing countries. Steady state analysis and load performance of such generators is thus of importance. This thesis investigates the steady state behaviour of the 1 '0 SEIG in one winding configuration. The performance is separately evaluated for main and auxilary winding and the chief findings are discussed. This study aims at making useful contributions to the understanding of efficient operation of . single winding operated 1 SEIG.en_US
