Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: A software has been developed to perform the simulation study of a system with Auto-tuned controllers. For simulation study, three first order models and a second order model have been developed with the help of expected reaction curve of a fourth order process. After developing the plant models of the process, a performance index,4ntegral Square Error (ISE) is calculated for the feedback system with PID controllers. PID or PI controllers have been designed by minimizing the Performance Index (ISE). Conjugate Gradient Method is used for minimization of ISE. After evaluating the . optimal setting of controller parameters, difference equations are developed for simulation study of the overall process. Response of the process are obtained in graphical form. In this work, auto-tuning has been done for set point change and for load change individually. Programming language `C' is used for developing the software. user friendly features have also been incorporated in the developed software.
