The dissertation deals with the experimental behaviour of fly-ash based Blended Cements in concrete in comparison to Ordinary Portland cement. Three different brands of locally available factory made Blended Cements were used for the experiments. Effects of Blended cements on the compressive strength, flexural strength, load-deflection behaviour and stress-strain behaviour under uniaxial compression for three different concrete mix with an increase in the cement content and reduction of water-cement ratio were studied. The effect of blended cements on the chloride permeability and electrical resistivity of concrete were also studied. Significant improvement in reduction of chloride permeability and an increase in the resistivity was found in flyash based blended cements than that in ordinary portland cement. Significant improvement in some of the structural properties has been observed due to the use of blended cements in concrete.en_US
