Authors: Saini, Vipul Kumar
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;COLLAPSE BEHAVIOUR;COMPACTED COAL ASH;FLY ASH
Issue Date: 2003
Abstract: Man made earth structures such as embankment, road fills and earth darns exhibit collapse. In the present work, collapse behaviour of compacted coal ash has been studied by performing oedometer collapse test on Fly ash, Bottom ash and Fly ash(50%) + Bottom ash(50%). Specimens of Fly ash(50%) + Bottom ash(50%) were also tested for varying dry density, water content, pressure and period of curing. The tests were performed also on leached material of Fly ash (50%) + Bottom ash (50%). It has been observed from the results that collapse potential of compacted Coal ash is not severe_.
