Abstract: In this dissertation "Computer Aided Design of Sump Cum Pump house" the various structures including Screening Chamber have been analyzed and designed using Structural Engineering Software StaadPro 2001 and additional computer programs have been developed in C language for analysis and design of other structural components like staircases (including its beams) and gantry girder. The proposed sump cum pump house is a live project in Kanpur city. For load calculations and designs the following codes are referred: IS 456:2000 Indian Standard Code of Practice for Plain and Reinforced Concrete, IS 3370 (Parts I, 11-1965, IV-1967) Code of Practice for Concrete Structures for the Storage of Liquids and IS 1893-1984 Criteria for earthquake resistant design of structures (fourth revision). The computer package developed thus is useful for complete design of various structures of sump cum pump house, along with the StaadPro Software.
