Abstract: Air monitoring data consist of measurement of so many polluting parameters that are intended to give insight into air quality conditions. Once the air monitoring data are collected, there is a further need to translate them into a form that is easily understood. Air quality indices are potent for such simplification. To inform common men about pollution level of air, Air Quality indices come is handy. In this study, Air Quality indices for four specific impacts viz, Public Health, Flora and Fauna, Visibility and Buildings are developed. Some sort of objectivity is introduced in these indices by using the opinions of a large panel of experts. This will help minimize problems associated with the arbitrary judgment incorporated in most of the indices reported so far. Using these indices, pollution level of air near brick kilns in village Landhaura at different sampling stations has been worked out.
