dc.description.abstract | Due to the increase in the price of petroleum products and environmental concerns about pollution coming from car gases, biodiesel is becoming a developing area of high concern. For this reason exhaust emission of biodiesel was studied and compared with the petroleum diesel fuel. The biodiesel was prepared by vegetable (soyabean) oil and modified by transesterification to reduce the glycerides into esters and alcohol. Further mathematical was developed for emission of CO, CO2, and NOx at different blending ratio of biodiesel and petroleum diesel. The model was solved using linear regression method and specific coefficients were calculated. The results were validated against the available data in literature and found to fit very well both graphically and numerically. The variation in results data was mainly due to difference in operating conditions viz. process parameters, storage conditions and quality of seeds of vegetable oil, and blending ratio. | en_US |
