Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: A Computational model to predict the flow characteristics inside the ducts has been studied in this work. The flow characteristics in 3 types of ducts namely finned duct, elbow duct and one type of section ducts has been studied. A study for the flow of water inside the ducts has been conducted .the simulations are repeated for different initial velocities. Governing equations for continuity are solved. Laminar and k-epsilon models are studied. Steady-state computations are performed using implicit scheme. The variations of stream-function and velocity magnitude at different velocities are described in the results. Different plots have included which show the stream function profile for laminar and k-epsilon model.
