Abstract: The current work is aimed to simulate the plasma torch impinging on an isothermal flat plate. The prediction of flow field and temperature and potential field is the main objective of the thesis. The simulation is done by solving the Navier Stokes equation coupled with the energy and current continuity equation. The problem is solved with finite volume method. Rectangular grid with irregular grid spacing is used. The SIMPLE algorithm (Patankar) is used to solve the problem.
