Title: TRANSIENT STABILITY ANALYSIS OF LARGE POWER SYSTEMS USING PARALLEL PROCESSORS
Authors: Rana, Maj Rakesh
Keywords: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING;TRANSIENT STABILITY ANALYSIS;POWER SYSTEMS;PARALLEL PROCESSORS
Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: In this Project an attempt has been made to develop a computer programforthe TRANSIENT STABILITY ANALYSIS oflargePowerSystems on PARALLEL PROCESSORS. The algorithm is based on Step-by-Step Method, using Implicit trapezoidal technique to solve the differential equations. Aspects of the Transient Stability and various Methods for carrying out the Transient Stability analysis have been discussed in the CHAPTER-1. CHAPTER-2 includes the description of various parallel processing systems in general and of TRANSPUTER in detail. CHAPTER-3 includes the various methods of solving the differential equations in brief and a detailed discussion of the Implicit Trapezoidal method ,with elaboration of its advantages. CHAPTER-4 describes the various parallel algorithms developed for the Transient stability analysis. CHAPTER-5 includes the modeling of the Power system components and the use of the Implicit Trapezoidal Method in the solution of their differential equations. CHAPTER-6 describes the Flow Chart and the Computer program for Transient Stability solution. The software has been written in "Turbo C" and is designed for the D 0 S environment. CHAPTER-7 discusses the various case studies conducted on the software developed, and the, results and conclusions derived from these..
