|Abstract:||An approach to the design of voltage regulating systems for self excited induction generator (SEIG) is presented. The performance of two types of capacitor voltage regulator is discussed. The steady state analysis of SEIG have been done with the help of equivalent circuit. NEWTON-RAPHSON numerical technique has been adopted to solve the nonlinear simultaneous equation which appear during the analysis of the machine. The algorithms are 'developed for simulations of each type of voltage regulator. In first regulating scheme the additional capacitance is placed in series with the load to augment the effect of shunt capacitor. The second regulating scheme involves the use of switched discrete capacitors which are introduce at load points where the voltage drops below a specified value. Relative performance of both type of voltage regulator and their relative merits and demerits have also been discussed in this thesis.|
