Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: The rapid race for industrialization and economic development has brought in its wake the problem of air pollution. There is a global need to control air pollution. Among the various pollution control equipments, cyclone separators are constantly used as first stage collectors and in those applications where only a small portion of dust to be collected in below 5 microns. In the present study on non tangential cyclone separator, an axial entry reverse flow cyclone separator has been considered. An algorithm for optimal design of cyclone separator has been developed. A parametric. study has been conducted to see the effect of various parameters on the optimal cost. A program has been developed using. 'C' language for optimal design and drafting of the cyclone separator.
