Title: DETERMINATION OF FREE SURFACE IN STEADY STATE SEEPAGE
Authors: Kumar, Niraj

Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: The free surface occurs as one of the boundaries in all unconfined ground water flow problems. Various attempts have been made by the different investigators to determine the free surface. In the present study an attempt has been made to determine this free surface. There is considerable evidence in the literature about the effect of vertical velocity on the free surface. The presence of vertical velocity has been considered with and without the inclusion of seepage face and differential equations have been formulated. Solving these equations, it is found that some of the available models are the particular cases of the proposed model. Also, the computed free surface profiles using the present model are found to match well with the observed free surface profiles.
