Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: Anaerobic digestion has been a popular method of stabilization of wastewater sludges throughout this century. Anaerobic digestion is preferably used in medium or large sized wastewater treatment plants. Although this process has developed a reputation, as one which is inherently unstable and difficult to control, but by now sufficient knowledge, though yet not complete, is available about the process behaviour for controlling it efficiently._ Due to the economy the process provides with a fairly good stabilization potential, this process is very likely to gain more popularity in the years to come. In the present work a process control software for high-rate anaerobic digestion (mesophilic) has been developed in C development environment. The major emphasis has been to develop an extremely user friendly software of practical utility for the operators of anaerobic digester unit.
