Title: COMPARATiVE ST UDY OF DIFFERENT METHODS OF BOX GIRDER ANALYSIS
Authors: Kumar, Ajit

Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: Concrete box girder bridges, single or multi-celled are being increasingly used in the modern highway construction for bridging long and medium span owing to their aesthetic apperance and their structural efficiency. Box girder bridges have high torsional rigidity resulting in better transverse load distribution. Different methc!s cf bcx girder analysis are available. Amongst them Finite Element Method, Finte Strip Method and Grillage Analysis are generally used. In design offices later two methods are used due to complexity of Finite Element Method. In the present thesis an attempt has been made to compare the deflection at the 1-el?.A'ant sections and maximum stress resultants in the different components using Grillage Analysis and Finite Strip Method.
