Abstract: The utility of s'nall hydel power station for rural uplift needs no emphasis as such installation are Invariably in rural and remote hilly area of the country. Through standardization, adoption of canal or cluster approach to achieve large volume and turnover and careful planning to achieve short gestation period, small hydroelectric installation can prove to be competitive with thermal, diesel, gas based large hydel station. Besides being highly reliable, these projects can have distinct advantage of being environmentally superior, requiring no resettlement, avoiding deforestation and reduced transmission losses. In this dissertation', a software has been developed to analyse and design R.C. frame of such a power house building, its various members e.g. roof sheet, purlins, beams, columns and foundation using limit state design method conforming to Indian standards IS - 456-197x. The program has been developed in FORTRAN-77.
