In this Dissertation work an attempt has been made to develop a load flow software for the analysis of Distribution Systems, and to present the results in a user friendly manner with the help of a Graphic Display. The algorithm for the load flow analysis is based on Compensation technique based power flow method. The traditional approaches for load flow analysis of power system networks are, insufficient, either in terms of accuracy or time. This is due to radial nature of the Distribution Systems, which also have high Resistance to Reactance ratio. Due to this reason traditional methods of load flow fail to converge. The present program / algorithm is very fast and accurate, as compared to classical Gauss - Seidel approach. It is capable of handling both Radial and Weakly Meshed Distribution System Networks. The interactive part of the software consists of drawing the network on the computer screen with the help of keyboard and/or digitizer, and have facility to display the results on the network diagram, drawn on screen, to enable the designer to observe and properly judge the system behaviour and conditions for further analysis and modification purposes. These programs are further supported by a separate menu driving program, which creates/maintains the database of the network, and serves to link both the above programs, on option selection basis .en_US
