The present work deals with the interfacing of a D.C. Motor fed by three phase bridge converter, with a personal computer. The various quantities of drive such as supply voltage, supply current, motor voltage, motor current, temperature of the motor have been sensed and displayed on P.C. screen on-line. The instantaneous, rms and avgerage values of voltage and current have also been calculated. Further their harmonics analysis and plotting has been done. A user friendly and interactive software has been developed using the C-programming language. The compiler used being Turbo C. Chapter 1 covers the need of monitoring in drives and brief description of literature survey. Chapter 2 describes the scheme for monitoring of D.C. drive and transducer used for voltage, current and temperature measurement of d.c. drive. Chapter 3 covers the PC add on card ADDA-14 card detail and its interfacing to P.C. The software development is covered in chapter 4. Chapter 5 discusses the experimental procedure for performing the experiment on the drive. Chapter 6 covers the conclusions and scope for further development.en_US
